I would break the pipeline into ingestion, validation, transformation, and loading stages so each part can be monitored independently. I would also make the process idempotent, use checkpoints or partitions for recovery, and build in backfill support so failures do not corrupt downstream data.

I would define a deterministic deduplication key and apply the rule consistently before aggregation or loading. If the source is at-least-once, duplicates are expected, so the pipeline should remove or collapse them explicitly rather than hoping they do not appear.

I would first identify whether the delay is coming from source ingestion, transformation, shuffle, or sink writes. Then I would look at recent data growth, cluster capacity, skew, and any upstream dependency changes. The fastest fix is usually to find the bottleneck rather than guessing at the whole pipeline.

I would partition the data by a stable time or business key and make transformations deterministic so a historical window can be recomputed safely. Incremental loads handle daily freshness, while backfill logic lets me repair or rebuild a time range without breaking current output.
